Rare - Early SA by Ernst Hugo Rasspe

Here we have a Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by Ernst Rasspe Solingen. The blade on this one has been cleaned hard and is very shiny. It still shows some age and pitting. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and manufacturer’s mark are both still clear. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates a VG. The brown anodized scabbard looks good. It has a hit in the middle of the obverse. Not too deep but there. The finish is good while retaining all it’s screws. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great! The ball has a wee bruise to the very bottom and continues to remain round. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Nm” (Nordmark). The grip / crossguard fits are perfect! The brown hardwood grip looks excellent. There are a few pressure marks but no flakes, cracks or chips. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A good example of a rare maker.
