Here we have a Personalized, Very Rare Model 1933 SA Dagger (Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch) by A. Werth of Solingen. This one rates 10 out of 10 on McSaars SA rarity rating. The blade on this one is beautiful. The crisp and dark, acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “A. Werth Solingen” manufacturer’s mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is stunning, running the full length of the blade. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an easy NM. It shows the slightest age grey and typical runner marks/surface scratches throughout. The steel based brown anodized scabbard looks great. It shows minor oxidization spotting throughout and the slightest pressure mark to the obverse (you need to shine it just right in the light to see it). The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look great! The ball is perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The crossguards match the scabbard fittings in wear, color and patina. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “No” (Nordmark). Just beside the gau mark it is personalized reading: “KB”. The brown hardwood grip looks great! Minor pressure marks but no cracks chips or flakes! The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. A very rare maker mark… You will have a tough time finding another!
