Here we have an earlier Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto, “Eickhorn Solingen RZM M7/66” maker mark are all beautifully executed! The fit continues to remain nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an easy Exc++. It shows minor age spotting along with the common surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks great. It has some oxidization spotting yet remains completely dent free and holds 85%+ of its original paint coverage. The black scabbard leather is in great condition. There are minor cracks where the leather stress points are. All of its rivets are intact and the snap continues to work well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plating. Typical wear where the snap/rivet would be. The black bakelite checkered grip plates look great. Both grip plates continue to remain tightly secured to the hilt with two steel rivets. The small HJ diamond is gorgeous retaining 99%+ of its enamel. A nice piece you are sure to be happy with!
