Here we have a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Puma (Pumawerk Lauterjung & Sohn) of Solingen. The blade looks great. The “Puma Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is gorgeous being easily visible all the way from the hilt to tip. The tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at Exc++. It shows age grey and spotting throughout along with the common surface scratches. There is a minor wiggle to the blade/hilt fit. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and nickel-silver plated. It remains completely dent free. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum-alloy based airplane grey burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum-alloy pommel both look excellent. The orange trylon grip is near perfect with gorgeous age toning and no cracks or chips. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. A great dagger!
