Wehrmacht 4 Year Long Service

A 4-Jährige Dienstzeit in der Wehrmacht (4. Klasse). The 4 Year Wehrmacht Long Service (4th Class) was awarded for 4 years of good standing military service. It is constructed out of a die stamped steel base that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse depicts, in silver; a national closed winged Heer eagle, clutching a swastika in its talons, below and arched: “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (Faithful Service in the Wehrmacht). The reverse depicts a “4” encircled by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. To the top is a soldered on loop and ring which holds approximately 3 ½ inches of folded over blue rayon ribbon that has been stitched together. To the reverse-top of the ribbon is a stitched on gilded brass well working pin assembly. There is no army insignia attached to the ribbon. The award measures approximately 1 3/16 inches in diameter. A great piece!
