A Tapferkeits und Verdienst Auszeichnung für Ostvölker 1. Klasse in Silber. The 1st Class Ostvolk Medal was awarded for bravery to military and paramilitary personnel from the former Soviet Union. It is constructed out of a die struck, zinc base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a centrally placed plant/flower that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is encircled by a rope pattern above two crossed broad swords and an eight pointed sunburst pattern. The reverse shows a semi-hollow back with the correct; soldered on tombak block hinge, soldered on tombak flatwire catch and steel coke bottle pin. This piece continues to display nice detail throughout! It measures approximately 2 inches wide and tall. A fine piece!
