Nice example at a fair price. The blade on this one has some spotting and light evidence of cleaning. It has a nicely executed acid etched "Arbeit adelt" motto and "Alcoso Solingen" maker mark. The tip is perfect as well! The blade rates Exc/Exc+. The steel based, silver plated scabbard has dents to the lower tip the worse of which is to the lower obverse. It retains wonderful detail with the burnished: decorative swirls, random pebbling and wheat leaves! It retains 98% of its plating. Indeed I could send the scabbard to a restorer and have the dents removed. I'll try it as is for a couple months and if it doesn't sell I'll send it off and for less than $100 I'll price it $500 more! I prefer to leave this stuff exactly as found. The two original throat retaining screws remains intact. The scabbard fits the hilt perfectly! The zinc based plated hilt looks good! It retains beautiful detail with the proud RAD logo to the front crossguard and eagle head on the pommel! There is the usual plating loss to the hilt. The white celluloid grip plates are perfect except for a minute flake off the reverse inside. Nice details throughout this piece, if you can forgive the dents you have found yourself a bargain!!
