Guys often ask: "Between this dagger and that one which one would you buy?" let me just tell you right now, this is the one I would buy! The hilt is all early brass based and very heavy. The fit is nice and tight, the tip comes to a perfect point and a quality plated blade by a the rare balloon-man maker. This is not perfect as the blade has a bit of age and plating lifting as often seen with this maker, but it is all quality early made. The original large brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The early silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The bottom is dented as clearly shown. The original throat retaining screw remains intact. The silver plated early eagle crossguard provides beautiful hand enhanced details throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The crossguard, and pommel are all brass based and all match in color, plating and its dark patina. The silver plating throughout remains in superb condition! The warm orange, trylon slant grip on this one is near perfect! No chips, cracks, hits, dirt or splits! This is a super example that I wouldn't let go!
