A RLB (Reichsluftschutzbund) Schirmmütze für Offiziere by Peter Küpper (Peküro) of Wuppertal-Ronsdorf. It is constructed out of blue grey wool, with a black velvet center-band and silver aluminum wire piping. Attached to the obverse is a silver aluminum/flatwire bullion RLB cap eagle and a silver aluminum/flatwire, bullion winged wreath. To each side is a peened on multi-piece aluminum/steel based and silver washed pebbled side buttons that hold the silver interwoven bullion chin cord in place. There is a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched tan cream underside. The interior features a tan leather sweatband that has vent holes to the forehead and a silk bow tie to the back. Some of the stitching has come loose to the front and it is torn from top to bottom along with the odd small tear. It is also personalized in pencil “Noelle”. The base of the interior has a gold colored silk lining under a clear diamond moisture shield over the which has, in silver: the “RLB” emblem, “Greadgruppe” and the Peküro manufacturers logo “Stirndruckfrei Deutsches Reichs-Patent”. It remains 75% stitched in place. Underneath the sweatband it is sized marked “58”. The exterior is in gorgeous shape! A beautiful visor missing from most collections!
