A Luftwaffe Schirmmütze für Offiziere. It is constructed out of blue-grey wool, with a black mohair that is horizontally ribbed and interwoven center-band and silver aluminum wire piping. Attached to the obverse is a silver aluminum/flatwire bullion 2nd pattern Luftwaffe cap eagle and a silver aluminum/flatwire, bullion winged wreath and cockade. To each side is a peened on multi-piece aluminum/steel based and silver washed pebbled side buttons that hold the silver interwoven bullion chin cord in place. There is a black lacquered visor peak with a cross hatched green underside and a reinforced edge. The interior features a tan leather sweatband that has vent holes to the forehead and a staple to the back. There is the odd tear throughout. The base of the interior has a gold colored silk lining under a clear diamond moisture shield over the “H” manufacturers logo (if you know who this is please let me know) and a paper name insert to Oblt. Donzius. The silk lining has tears and sweat staining throughout. The exterior is in gorgeous shape! A great officer’s visor!
