A three piece medal bar with 2nd Class Danziger Kreuz. The Danzig Cross, was instituted on the 31st of August 1939, by Danzig Gauleiter Albert Forster. It was awarded to those who contributed to building up the Nazi Party in the free city of Danzig. Only 253 2nd Class Danzig Crosses were awarded. The obverse features from left to right; The Honor Cross of the World War 1914/1918 without Swords, The 2nd Class Danzig Cross and the 2nd Class War Merit Cross without swords. Each award is attached to a medal bar and its appropriate rayon ribbon. The reverse of the Danzig Cross features two rivets and is designer marked: “BvA” (Benno von Arent) and maker marked: “Hülse Berlin”, both are embossed. It also features a plated steel plate with the appropriate crimped prongs and a pin, hinge and catch assembly. The most desirable variation. An extremely rare and desirable cross!
