A Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss Ärmelabzeichen (pre-1940). It is constructed out of machine embroidered silver-aluminum and gold bullion to a green wool base and a glued on black paper backing. The oval shaped obverse features an edelweiss flower and stem encircled by a rope border on a green backing. The reverse shows the glued on black paper backing. Minor moth nips. It measures 2 1.4 inches wide by 2 ½ inches tall. A nice officers piece!
