Here we have an excellent Silver Infantry Assault Badge by an unknown maker. The oval badge is vaulted and constructed out of a die struck, zinc base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts a rifle and bayonet below a Heer closed winged eagle clutching a mobile swastika within its talons. This is all surrounded by an acorn and oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The reverse of the badge shows a flat full back. It has the correct soldered buntmetall; sheet metal hinge, round wire round oval plate catch and round wire pin assembly! They all remain in well working condition. The catch is bent but functions fine. Reverse shows minor bubbling to the zinc finish yet most of the silver wash remains. The details look excellent! A fine example here.
