Here's a dagger direct from the Vet's family last week. The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Carl Wüsthof Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully and darkly executed! The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc++. It has some in/out marks but other than me wiping off some oil it's never been cleaned. There's some age grey. The steel based, brown repainted scabbard has a dent to the lower obverse. The paint is 95% intact. The solid nickel scabbard fittings show period wear. The ball is pushed in. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "S". The crossguard / grip fits are perfect as well! The light brown hardwood grip looks great! It shows the common pressure marks throughout yet no flakes, cracks or chips! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a good fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel. A nice piece.
