A cool piece by Eickhorn from the Vet's family. The blade on this one has a mid period etched maker mark. It's got gray and age. The reverse is personalized about 3" south of the maker mark, "Neuhaus". The blade on this one rates Exc. The original buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard has a matching personalization between the bands. It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It has a dent to the very lower reverse right on top of the oal leaf motif. Not bad but you can find it with your fingers. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. It has a snug fit up to the crossguard. The aluminum eagle crossguard and pommel look awesome! The eagle has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The pommel is beautifully hand enhanced. The grip on this one was in pieces when it came so i replaced it with a correct perfect grip with the correct wire wrap. No one would ever know but I do so I of course share this with you. All the parts on this are textbook Eickhorn. Included is an original portepee. Overall a interesting example!
