Here's a really nice beautifully patinaed degan. All the fittings are early solid nickel, NOT plated! The unmarked blade on this one looks great. It has the original matte finish to the blade with no sharpening. The tip is perfect, the fit is nice and tight. The 33" blade rates Exc++. The original white buffer pad remains intact. The black enamel painted scabbard is in good shape with nice paint. Looks to have suffered a door slam denting the lower, the worse of which is to the reverse, see pics. The paint coverage remains better than 98%. The upper SS proofed scabbard fitting has nicely patinaed, remaining secured with two unturned dome head screws. The hilt has even patina matching the scabbard. The back backgrounds on the runes are nice a dark and the pommel appears to never have been turned. The grip is in fine shape with honest wear but no chips or splits. The cast ferrule is nicely detailed with handwork throughout. The pommel nut has the correct SS cast runes in place. Included is a correct NCO troddle, it's lost the thread from the side but still displays nicely! Overall an outstanding example!
