A sweet piece! The blade on this one looks excellent! The dark and crisp "Alcoso Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed. The blade is a beauty with 100% platingg. There is a wee wave, (bend) towards the tip you will have to go looking to find. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates a solid Exc++. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based blue pebbled, leather scabbard body remains in excellent condition! It has the odd pressure mark/scuff yet it retains 98% coverage and has a nice seam! The silvered steel scalloped scabbard have nicely patinaed with age. The reverse of the top fitting is Jeweler personalized reading: "AB". The fittings are tightly secured with all five original screws! The aluminum chain has 10 lower and 6 upper ringlets that ends at a well working "Ges. Gesch. OLC" marked clip. The hilt looks good! Peek under the crossguard and see the guy's initials again "AB"! For you guys who always fear that a scabbard switch happened at some point, no worries here! The four gold gilded sun wheel swastikas retain the majority of their gold! The grip leather remains in excellent condition! It shows period age wear, scuffs and toning. The triple brass wire wrap remains tightly intact. This one comes with the correct portepee but it's pretty much beat. All matching patina and beautifully personalized, what are you waiting for?
