A solid example here! The blade on this one looks good! The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "AB August Bickel Steinbach Hallenberg" maker mark are beautifully executed! The fit remains nice and tight but the tip is slightly blunted. I measured it and it still measures 220mm, textbook. The crossgrain remains visible and all the edges are smooth. The blade rates an Exc++. The brown anodized scabbard body remains completely dent free. It has some dots of oxidization but 95%+ of the anodizing remains as does some factory lacquer. The solid nickel scabbard fittings and crossguards remain in great shape! They have matching patina and wear. All four screws remain intact. The ball has a wee pressure mark and retains its original round shape. The reverse of the lower crossguard is lightly marked "Fr". The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The lacquered hardwood grip looks great! It has the common seen split just above the roundel, but that's it. Hardly any pressure marks, no chips and no flaking. The grip / crossguard fits are near perfect! The solid nickel eagle has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 100% of its enamel! Included is a worn but quite original hanger. A nice piece, here for the taking!
