Japanese Navy Officer Pith Helmet

Pre war, British manufactured for the Japanese Navy. This has a Japanese Imperial Navy alloy cap badge in the form of a fouled anchor with a five-lobed cherry blossom to its center is attached to the front of the helmet with its original prongs. The exterior is covered in tan cloth. One piece covers the all-around visor, and six triangular-shaped segments cover the body, their points meeting at the apex of the crown, and their bases concealed by a decorative, seven-stepped band which gathers front and back. Two ventilation grommets are to either side of its body, and a convex, ventilation "button," with circular openings along its base, is fixed to the top of the helmet. Nice complete sweatband (one tear), chinstrap and original label. Couple of small holes, wear and soil to the fabric.
