A Kreigsmarine Flottenkriegsabzeichen by Schwerin of Berlin. The Navy High Seas Fleet Badge was awarded for service to the crews of battleships, cruisers and other supporting naval ships who met the specific award criteria (along with those who were killed in action). It is constructed out of a die-struck tombak base that has been gold gilded and chemically blackened. The obverse depicts a frontal view of a battle ship, cutting through waves, which is below a Kriegsmarine eagle (with out-stretched wings clutching a mobile swastika within its talons) and is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The concave full-back reverse is correctly designer and maker marked: “Fec. Adolf Bock Ausf. Schwerin Berlin”. It also displays the correct tombak; soldered flatwire catch, coke bottle pin and soldered block hinge. The gilding and blackening look wonderful! The detail to the ship is superb! It measures approximately 2 1/4 inches high by 1 ¾ inches wide. Snatch this one up before someone else does! Beautiful!
