An excellent example of a Silver 1st Class Ostvolk Eastern Peoples medal by Rudolf Wachtler & Lange! The award is constructed out of a die struck, zinc base that has been silvered. The obverse depicts a centrally placed flower that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath that is encircled by a rope pattern and a sunburst pattern. The reverse shows a semi-hollow back with the correct buntmetall; soldered block hinge, soldered oval plate flatwire catch and coke bottle pin. The pin is correctly maker marked to the inside: "100" (Rudolf Wachtler & Lange). The silver remains to the pin, hinge & catch assembly and otherwise has been mostly absorbed by the zinc-alloy base, as is common with these. This piece continues to display nice detail throughout!
