Attributed to SS Flak Abteilung. 3. It is hand etched: “SS Ro 1AP Hermann” to one side and “FPN 35957” to the other. The Feldpost Number links this particular badge to the SS Flak Abteilung. 3 1. Batterie. I didn’t notice the etching the first time I held it and it was not until I took high resolution photos that I could see it. It is quite light and you can tell this wasn’t done yesterday. If you look close enough on the COA from Militaria Berlin the markings are there too, yet I believe they missed it completely!
A SS-Heeres-Flak Abzeichen by C.E. Juncker of Berlin. The SS-Heer flak badge was awarded for proven participation in several (16 points) successful actions against aerial targets. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been heavily silvered washed and black burnished and lacquer finished. The oval shaped obverse depicts an anti-aircraft gun that is surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath and is below a Heer eagle, clutching a mobile swastika in its talons. The full back reverse is inscribed as indicated above. It is also maker marked: “C.E. Juncker Berlin SW68” and shows a soldered on block hinge, soldered on oval plate flat wire catch and a round wire pin. The hinge, pin and catch assembly are all in well working condition. It measures approximately 2 3/8 inches tall by 1 ¾ inches wide. Comes with a COA from Militaria Berlin. Way cool!
