A Hitler Youth Kreis (Local) Level National Trade Competition Victors Badge 1938. The Reichsberufswettkampf (National Trade Competition) was an annual vocational competition held in Nazi Germany as part of the Gleichschaltung of German society. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed and contains multicolored enamel work and is covered in a protectant lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a German national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a cogwheel, that has a Hitler Youth diamond logo above it, in its talons. This is above a smooth pearl white field that reads “Kreissieger 1938” (Locally Victorious 1938) and is surrounded by a laurel leaf and berry wreath. The reverse shows a full concave back with an embossed maker mark which reads: “G. Brehmer Markneukirchen”. It also has a soldered on round wire catch, soldered on block hinge and flat wire pin. It measures approximately 1 15/16 inches wide and tall. 98%+ enamel work remains intact. Collect all of the levels and dates!
