Wow what a nice example of a completely matching 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Carl Eickhorn! The blade on this one looks excellent! The acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The plating is 99%. It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. To the Obverse is etched "HILDE 23.6.40" Perhaps this was a gift or a prize. The blade on this one rates a solid NM. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The airplane grey plated scabbard looks excellent! It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and both throat retaining screws remains intact! The aluminum crossguard, steel ferrule and pommel all look awesome! The eagle has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The pommel is beautifully hand enhanced and has those proud gold gilded swastika’s that are desired among collectors! 40% of the gold gilding remains. Just beautiful! The early trylon grip has aged to a nice yellow. The grip is in perfect shape! The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. This is an excellent example and is a piece you will feel proud to own!
