WOW here's a black beauty direct from the Vet's family in early nickel! Look at how all the fittings have patinaed! The inspection marked blade looks awesome! The etched maker mark is beautifully executed and nice and dark too contrasting to the bright blade. The blade has no sharpening or pitting and includes a pristine tip. The blade rates an easy NM. The leather buffer is intact. The hilt fittings are all nickel with inserted brass swas's, which all have the coppery look! 100% of the silver remains between the swas. legs. The grip is double wire wrapped in brass springy wire-exactly how these early examples should be. There is minor wear to the grip leather with some scuffs. The scabbard's body leather was scuffed up pretty good. I touched it up with some shoe wax. Looks pretty darn good. There is a bit of leather loss I covered to the upper edge, see pics. The pommel is correctly hand enhanced with wee oak leaves and acorns. All headless scabbard screws are present. All the patina matches. To top it all off this piece is personalized with the ferrule being Jeweler engraved, "Webendoerfer". This may be researchable. The hanger is lost to time.
