German WWII > Belt Buckles > SA / NSKK >
1st pattern SA (Sturmabteilung) Koppelschloß, introduced in the early 1920's. It is constructed out of a die struck brass base that has been burnished. The front depicts an open winged eagle clutching a wreathed sun wheel swastika within its talons. This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes. The eagle is above a laurel leaf pattern. The buckle shows period wear, age toning and some minor oxidization to the steel prongs. The catch remains in great condition. A solid example!
