With only minor flaking to the finish it is in impeccable condition. It measures approximately 2 3/16 inches tall by 1 11/16 inches wide. It comes housed in its original issue paper packet that has been folded and glued together. It reads, in black print: “Luftwaffen Erdkampf- Abzeichen” to the obverse and “J.E. Hammer & Söhne Geringswalde” to the reverse surrounded by a rectangular border. Three are several tears throughout. The packet measures 2 ¼ inches wide by 4 1/8 inches tall.
