A Personalized Rifle Association Dagger by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie AG of Solingen. The blade on this one is beautiful! The acid etched panels are gorgeous! Just look at all that detail! There are forests, bucks, rifles, targets and more! The stamped knights head “WKC” maker mark is beautifully executed. It has a perfect tip. The reverse ricasso is personalized reading “For faithfull service dedicated from the Private Freischützen (free marksman/shooter) Company Annaberg 1939”. The blade rates a Exc++/NM. It shows the common surface scratches and age. The green felt buffer pad remains intact. The black leather based scabbard is in excellent condition! It depicts two decorative lines running the length of the scabbard on both sides. It shows minor age. All of the stitching is intact. Both matching steel based, plated fittings have scalloped edges and are tightly secured by one staple (numbered underneath) each. The hilt on this piece is really unique compared to a lot of other daggers! The clamshell depicts a half oak leaf and acorn, half laurel leaf and berry wreath that surrounds an enameled “Deutscher - Scuutzen-Verband ‐“ Shooting Association Membership insignia correctly pinned in place. The crossguard is in great condition. Both quillions end at a decorative acorn. The ferrule and pommel both have decorative lines throughout. The pommel has a screw that is un-tampered with. The grip is wood based and celluloid covered. Most of these have cracks or chips, but not this one! The grip is wood based and celluloid covered and has two crossed rifles that are correctly pinned to the center obverse. There is a crack running horizontally through as is typical with these grips. Comes with a green portepee. Overall, this piece is a hard one to come by so now’s your chance to get a real beauty of a piece, you will be proud to own!
