German WWII > Belt Buckles > SS >
Schutzstaffel Koppelschloß by Overhoff & Cie. of Lüdenscheid. Introduced in 1927. The buckle is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been silver washed. The obverse depicts an SS eagle with its tongue sticking out and outstretched wings, clutching a centrally placed wreath static swastika in its talons. The eagle is above the SS motto: “Meine Ehre heißt Treue!” which is in front of a rough textured background that is surrounded by two twisted ropes in a circle. All of this lies on a smooth rectangular background. The reverse features a soldered on steel catch and steel pin/post sleeve and prongs. It measures 2 ½ inches wide by 1 7/8 inches tall. Nice.
