SMF truly made some wonderful 2nd Model Luftwaffe Daggers! The more desirable plated blade on this one looks great! It has a beautifully executed "SMF Solingen" maker mark, with a perfectly stamped proof mark just above it! It has a perfect tip and solid fit. The plating looks great as well, giving it a nice mirror like finish! The blade on this one rates a Exc++/NM. There is minor age but that's about it! The original blue pebbled buffer pad remains intact. The steel based plated scabbard looks excellent! It shows minor spotting but that's it. It depicts awesome details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and the two headless retaining screws remain intact! The correct aluminum bands perfectly match the crossguard and pommel quite nicely. The burnished aluminum SMF Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has amazing detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The aluminum pommel is beautifully hand enhanced to the sides and has those two proud gold gilded swastika you want to see, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns. 98% of the gold gilding remains intact! These are just beautiful and make for a display the others don't! The early trylon grip has aged to a nice yellow over time. It is in near perfect condition with no cracks, chips or splits and one tone darker to the obverse! The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A quality matching SMF piece!
