Ok so right off the bat I believe that has been post-war enhanced by some collector to be a "snow-camo" helmet. Regardless it looks to be all original besides that. A decent example of a Single Decal M40 Army Helmet by ET64. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been green painted. The shell has a folded over edge, embossed air vents and three split rivets. The interior has a steel liner with two square rings. The interior liner is made of aged tan brown leather. I see no size stamp. It remains completely intact along with its original draw string and chin strap all fingers are intact and untorn. The chin strap is post-war replacement. The helmet is serial marked "4894" to the back and is also maker marked and sized "ET64". The exterior is in excellent shape showing period wear and oxidation. The single white and black lined ET Heer decal is partly visible. A good display piece.
