Imperial Prussian Army Belt Buckle

Here we have an Imperial Prussian Army Belt Buckle. The two piece belt buckle is constructed out of a die struck, brass/nickel base that has been silver washed and gold gilded. The front silvered roundel depicts the Imperial king's crown which is then encircled by detailed lines and enclosed by two twisted ropes. The crown is above a laurel leaf pattern and below the Army motto: "GOTT MIT UNS" (God with us), which all lies on a smooth gold gilded background. The buckle shows age patina, discoloring and retains excellent detail. The brass prongs and catch remain in excellent condition. It measures approximately 2 ½ inch wide by 2 inches high. A nice solid example!
