I just love the look of these! It is constructed out of a die struck, aluminum base that has been gold gilded. The obverse depicts a fouled anchor above a lined background which is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom. There is a scratch to the front, NOT a crack. The reverse shows a slightly concave and smooth backing. It is maker marked "EJL" (Emil Jüttner, Ludenscheid). both keepers remain though one looks to have been added as the finish is gone on it. One of the alloy vertical loops remain intact. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches high. A wonderful example with beautiful gilding!!
