2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by A. Wingen

A good piece by A. Wingen! The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched Knight "A. W. Jr. Solingen" maker mark is beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to tip. It also has a perfect tip and solid fit! Overall the blade rates Exc++. It shows minor age spotting. The original buffer pad remains intact. The steel based dent-free airplane grey scabbard looks good! It is nicely detailed with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns throughout. The throat retaining screw remains intact. The burnished aluminum based eagle crossguard looks awesome! It is beautifully detailed throughout the eagles feathers, wings and top side embossed acorns and oak leaves! The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel are also both nicely detailed and all quite nicely matching the scabbard. The wood based celluloid covered grip suffers some surface cracking as we do see with these grips. The double twisted wire wrap is in perfect condition and has a nice and tight fit. Nicely finishing this is a very decent portepee.
