A beautiful piece! It is constructed of two pieces of die stamped/struck aluminum-alloy that have been silver washed. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged Heer eagle facing left griping a mobile swastika in its talons on a textured round background. The eagle is above a half oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is underneath the Heer motto reading: "Gott Mit Uns" (God with us). The wreath and motto are both in front of a decorative lined type pattern background which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The separate roundel lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse shows all four pongs that attach the roundel. The plated steel prongs and integral catch remain intact. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A rare Heer aluminium buckle as issued only between January and March of 1933 manufactured by Steinhauer & Luck
