Preußen III. Klasse Königlicher Kronen-Orden im Etui by Wagner. Equivalent to the Order of the Red Eagle, being awarded to recognize valor in combat, excellence in military leadership, long and faithful service to the kingdom, or other achievements. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been gold gilded and contains white and blue enamel work. The obverse features a pattée style cross that features a centrally placed crown of Prussia, surrounded by a blue enamel ring bearing the motto “Gott Mit Uns” (God With Us). The reverse features that same cross with a centrally placed Prussian royal monogram, surrounded by a blue enamel ring with the date “18 October 1861”. It measures 1 11/6 inches square. The award comes with 5 ¼ inches of folded blue silk/rayon ribbon. Both pieces are housed in its appropriate case. The lid corner is bent and the hinge has torn through and been repaired. The top center gold foil monogram is beautiful! It measures 2 ½ inches wide by 3 ¼ inches deep by 1 inch thick. A rare award on its own to find in the case is very rare! A great assembly!
