Slotted Municipal Police Bayonet by Alcoso

Well here we have a nice but unmatched example of a Municipal Police Bayonet by Alcoso. The plated bade on this one looks good! It retains a nice and bright finish with some age towards the tip where it was factory shortened. The double stamped maker marks and spine proof stamp are all nicely executed! The blade rates a solid Exc++. It shows evidence of the cut down blade (all of these were that way post Weimar period) along with minor spotting and surface scratches throughout. The black municipal leather scabbard body looks great! It has the odd scuff yet it remains nice and dark and retains all of its stitching. The four vertical lines running through it giving it that finishing touch of German detail! The nickel based and plated scalloped scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed with age. There is a few minor bumps and its staples remain intact. The reverse of the top fitting is marked and does not match the crossguard. The scabbard snugly fits the brass based hilt. The hilt matches the scabbard in color, wear and patina. It depicts wonderful burnished detail throughout, with the oak leaves, acorns and highly detailed pommel eagle! Note this has the rarer and desirable slotted pommel with well working press stud. The multi-toned stag grip plates are tightly secured with two aluminium rivets. The centrally placed burnished 1st pattern aluminium police eagle is properly pined and still shows nice detail throughout! A nice looking example of a police bayonet with a correct police frog! Snatch it up before someone else does!
