1890 Canadian/British Cavalry Trooper Sword

Calvary Trooper's sword made at Enfield Asenal England. Nice bright curved one-piece hand guard with knurled black leather grips secured with five steel rivets. The bright steel scabbard with opposed fixed rings has minor evidence of use and is well marked. The blade is clean with a single fuller. It is again well marked with the issue date, "98" & "EDF" and spine stamped "90" pattern. The hand-guard is marked "M5D over 86. It is also marked "X", sold out of service mark over the 5 indicating issue to the 5th Dragoons, a mounted militia regiment.
