Impressive example made in France at the Chatellerault Arsenal, This model 1896 was made in 1900 per the blade inscription. The blade is in Exc++ condition. The elaborate nickel basket guard has a gold, (I don't know if it's real gold) inlaid coat of arms. the grip in brass wire wrapped sharkskin. This example was sold through the distributor "F. Lepage". The steel based nickle plated scabbard has some wear and a small impression you can feel with your fingers to the middle reverse. It has a single suspension ring.
