Wow! how rare is the 5 formal awards to one guy! This guy had an amazing service! Awarded to Hans Ohlendorf we have:
Spanish Cross in Bronze w/o Swords, June 6, 1939, “as recognition for exceptional service as a volunteer in the fight for Spanish freedom”; facsimile of the Führer/Oberste Befehlshaber der Wehrmacht (Supreme Commander of the Wehrmacht); impressed with an eagle of the Wehrmacht; measuring 353 mm x 254 mm, (full size); showing evidence of a fold and water stain. Pls note I scanned this in 2 parts and the seam you might see is not there.
Sudetenland Commemorative Medal while serving on the Kreuzer Koln dated Dec 20 1939.
Iron Cross II class June 14, 1941 and Iron Cross I Class July 26, 1941 while serving on Prinz Eugen. Now check these dates. This guy was there with Bismarck during the engagement with the Hood! It just doesn't get better than this!! This is the stuff of movies! The two crosses absolutely were in recognition of this action! If you are in this hobby for the history well you need this!!
