An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Wilh. Wagner of Solingen-Merschid. The blade on this one looks great! The stamped “Wilh. Wagner Solingen-Merschid” maker mark and acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto are both beautifully executed! It displays wonderful crossgrain all the way from the perfect tip to the solid hilt fit. The blade rates an Exc++. It shows a small warp to the cutting edge towards to tip, surface scratches and age grey throughout. The leather buffer pad is lost to time. The steel based black painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It retains 95% paint coverage and it remains completely dent free. The brown scabbard leather is in excellent condition! It is “LFS” marked. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 97% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and remain in excellent condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 80% of its enamel. A nice Hitler Youth Knife!
