Early Hitler Youth Knife by Grawiso
An Early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Grawiso - Gebruder Grafrath of Solingen. The blade on this one looks decent. The stamped “Grawiso Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is faint yet still visible. The tip comes to a nice point and the fit is tight as it should be. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows heavy age grey and has been lightly sharpened. The leather buffer pad is a post-war replacement. The steel based black painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It retains 95% paint coverage and it remains completely dent free. The black scabbard leather is in excellent condition! It is marked “K. Spandow Crimmitschau”. I’ve never seen this marking on an HJ before and thought it to be quite unique. It has all of its rivets intact and the snap continues to work well. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 97% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and remain in near perfect condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 99% of its enamel. A nice unique Hitler Youth Knife!
