A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by AES RZM M7/85 – Arthur Evertz of Solingen. The ricassoed blade on this one looks great. The stamped “AES RZM M7/85” maker mark is nicely executed. It has a solid fit and perfect tip. The blade rates Exc++. It shows surface scratches and age grey/spotting throughout. The original black leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black painted scabbard looks good remaining dent free. The black folded black leather strap retains all of its rivets and a well working snap. The female snap cap is lost to time. The top of the leather strap has also been period repaired. The zinc based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 80%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are secured by two steel rivets. The HJ diamond retains 90%+ of its enamel. An inexpensive option to get you into the edged weapons market!
Full disclosure: This piece has been partially restored. When I got it there was no HJ diamond, the obverse scabbard rivet was missing and the reverse grip is broken. An original HJ cap diamond was put in the grip, a pin head for the scabbard rivet, the scabbard was re-painted and some black epoxy was put into the reverse grip plate.
