A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/3 – Kuno Ritter of Solingen. The ricassoed blade on this one is fine. The stamped “RZM M7/3” maker mark is nicely executed and it has a solid fit. The blade rates Exc. It has been slightly sharpened, shows surface scratches and age grey/spotting throughout. The original black leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks good. It has a pressure mark to the obverse and retains 66% paint coverage. The black folded black leather strap is marked “LFS”, retains all of its rivets. The female snap portion and leather around it has broken off. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 75%+ of its plated finish. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are secured by two steel rivets and epoxy. The HJ diamond retains 66%+ of its enamel. An inexpensive option to get you into the edged weapons market!
Full disclosure: This piece has been partially restored. When we got it the grip plates were broken. They were glued back together and there was some epoxy added to the reverse. The blade has also been cleaned to remove rust.
