Tirpitz- Erinnerungsnadel. This pin was awarded, along with an award document, to sailors who had served satisfactorily on the battleship “Tripitz”. It is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been silver washed and contains red and black paint work. The shield shaped obverse features the “Tirpitz” armorial crest. The full back reverse features a soldered-on round plate knurled stickpin. Nice paint remains. This piece was previously sold by H. Weitze. The face measures 7/16 of an inch wide and tall. An exceedingly rare piece!
