A textbook Army Dagger by Eickhorn! The bright blade on this one has some minor age. The etched "Original Eickhorn Solingen" maker mark is crisp and black. The blade rates an Exc++. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The dent-free steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The original throat retaining screw remains intact. The zinc-alloy based, 2nd variation nickel-silver plated Eickhorn crossguard provides wonderful detail throughout the eagle's head, wings, wreath and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The orange, trylon grip on this one has wear and small bumps being one tone darker to the obverse. There is a tiny flake just north of the obverse ferrule, period, as it's darkened with the grip and you will have to look very hard to see it. A nicely patinaed Eickhorn example!
