A very early Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Anton Wingen Jr of Solingen. The blade on this one looks decent. The stamped “A.W.Jr Solingen” maker mark and “Ges. Geschützt” patent mark are both beautifully executed. The acid etched “Blut und Ehre!” motto is faint yet still visible. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc. It shows heavy age grey/pitting, a minor sharpen to the edge along with spotting and surface scratches throughout. The buffer pad is lost to time. The scabbard is steel based black painted. It retains 75% paint coverage and it remains completely dent free. The black scabbard leather looks good. The leather around the female snap portion has broken off and could be repaired with some patience. The snap still works. The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 80% of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and remain in excellent condition. Both solid nickel-silver rivets remain tightly secured. The HJ diamond retains 65% of its enamel. A very early Hitler Youth Knife!
