An early, slant-grip, tapered tang, textbook Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by G. Spitzer of Solingen. The blade on this one is in great condition. The acid etched encircled lion “G. Spitzer Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows age grey, a few hits to the cutting edge and has been cleaned. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The nickel silver eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The hand enhanced pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. All matching patina to the hand enhanced fittings! The early desirable slant orange trylon grip is in wonderful condition. The odd pressure mark but no cracks or chips. A great early example with some desirable features!
