An early slant grip, tapered tang textbook Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by E. & F. Hörster of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “E. & F. Hörster Solingen” maker mark is dark crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible, all the way from the hilt to the tip, as you shine it in the light! The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! The blade rates Exc++. It shows some spidering, runner rest marks and scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The nickel-silver plated eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. Early on Hörster purchased WKC parts, as is the case here. Nice burnishing to the fittings and scabbard. The desirable slant orange trylon grip is in wonderful condition. Minor speckling and no cracks or chips. A great piece!
