An early, slant grip, tapered tang, textbook Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Paul Weyersberg & Co. of Solingen. The plated blade on this one looks great. The acid etched encircled wreathed broad sword “Paul Weyersberg & Co. Solingen” maker mark looks good. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc++. It is clean and there is minor wear and surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The brass based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands but best of all it's undented! 90% of these early brass scabbards and banged up. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The tombak based nickel-silver plated 1st pattern P. Weyersberg crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. Best of all look at the reverse! It's been jeweler engraved "SR"!! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. Nice burnishing to the fittings and scabbard. The desirable slant orange trylon grip is damage-free. A heavy desirable early dagger with all the features you want!
